Agartala, Tripura, March 23 (HBTV): The candidate for the opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc for Tripura by-election Ratan Das filed his nomination papers on Friday.     



Hundreds of Communist Party of India (CPI-Marxist) workers took to the streets to show support, as opposition leaders led a rally before the formal submission of the nomination papers. 



Speaking during the occasion, Leader of Opposition and CPI-M MLA JitendraChaudhury asserted that this year’s Lok Sabha election was crucial as it presents the time and opportunity to oust the Bharatiiya Janata Party from power, which he alleged had "destroyed the country and paralyzed the constitution." 



Speaking with reporters, Chaudhury emphasized the significance of the 18th Lok Sabha election for the people of the country.               



Congress leaders, including West Parliamentary Constituency candidate Ashish Kumar Saha and former Minister and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman attended the rally.
